Disappointing results this weekend with both our Women’s & Men’s teams losing their respective matches but as always an opportunity to learn for the next game.

The Queen Bees played on Saturday at Bedford Arena v Reading Royals and put in an improved overall performance but none the less recorded a 7-1 loss, with the highlight being another goal scored by young rising star Eve SEYF. A display from the small squad that gives coaching team Paris Brixey & Erol Opal hope for the future.

On Remembrance Sunday, our Men met for the first time London Brunel in the National Futsal Series Super Cup (South) at the University of Cambridge Sports Centre infront of a youthful & appreciative crowd.

It was a game of clinical finishing v missed chances.

The Bees managed to pull level at 1-1 half way through the first half with a typical & controlled shot from Jonny TOFTS.

However the home side had already accumulated 5 fouls, so after an interception & 2v1 counter attack resulted in the visitors taking the lead again, with just 4mins remaining a 6th resulted in a 10m penalty.

Chay JAKES was temporarily replaced in goal by Ivan MAGALHAES who managed to save the penalty with his foot only to see the ball pounced on by the taker & slotted home.

Second half saw both teams play Fly Keeper, the home team trying to get back in the game whilst the visitors attempted to secure their win.

Again, fouls were accumulated & with 7mins remaining and the foul count on 4-3, Brunel managed another 2v1 counter attack & increased their lead to 1-4.

As the Bees piled on the pressure, Brunel took full advantage with a route one throw from their keeper resulting in a tight angled shot and goal making the score 1-5 in the last few minutes.

They secured their win in the last few seconds taking advantage of an injury to the Bee’s Angel MARTINEZ with a 3v1 counter attack.

Next weekend sees the Men on the road to Milton Keynes for an away league encounter, with the Women a weekend off.
