Always positives!

Disappointing results for both the Women’s & Men's First Teams this weekend.

The women returned to their home venue at Bedford University for their first league match of the year v London Genesis on Saturday.

Unfortunately, again the Women could only muster 5 players from their squad of 13 but went down fighting against a full strength London team losing a creditable 7-3 (3-3 at half time) with a first goal from new signing Silvia TARANTINO and 2 more from rising star player young Eve SEYF.

A few new signings are in the pipe line so hopefully the next game will feature a full squad of committed women players to at least give them a fighting chance of gaining their first points of the season.

On Sunday, the Men travelled the 100miles down to the magnificent Andover Leisure Centre to play Wessex who are old adversaries previously named and playing at Salisbury.

The dangers of 2 of their top players were well known but it was hoped the Bees could record a result in this Cup encounter which is played on an 8 game league basis. Sadly, it was not to 🐝!

5 goals from the home sides star ex semi pro footballer player (2 from the penalty spot) and one from their other star player put paid to the hopes of the visitors.

A solitary goal from young 17yr old Adi LAWRENCE and a penalty save from Chay JAKES were the highlights of a committed overall performance but lacking in the composed execution of a Plan B.

FT:Wessex 6 Cambridge 1 (HT 2-0).

The Men are in action away next Sunday to Bristol Welsh who are playing their home matches in Taunton, Somerset. A long, long drive awaits...even longer on the way back should the result not go the way of the Bees!
