Bedford 4 - 10 Cambridge

Bees end losing streak in emphatic style in the A428 Derby.

Following 3 defeats on the bounce the Bees were looking for a win to move them up the NFS Tier 2 South Table against Bedford.

With Head Coach Luis Mendonca missing due to the birth of his daughter (congratulations to Luis and Susanna!!) his assistant Abel Reviejo took charge.

The match began evenly, but Cambridge began to take control and halfway through the first half 2 goals from Michael Hoffstetter and one from Natxo Zarauza put the Bees in control. Bedford hit back, but a goal from Zoli Molnar-Saska put Cambridge 4-1 up at the break.

Bedford started the second half well and scored a second, but Angel Martinez hit back immediately and the Bees now took control of the match when a Zarauza corner was deflected into their own net by a Griffin's defender. Zarauza then added another, before Molnar-Saska notched his second to put the Bees 8-2 up.

The match now became quite scrappy and Bedford scored two quick goals, but a great finish on the run by Vita Burnus and a late goal from player of the match Martinez put pay to any thoughts of a fight back from the home side.
