The Bees returned to the court for the first time since mid December looking to continue their fine run of form leading up to the Christmas break.
The task ahead would be far from straight forward, taking on a young, but exceptionally talented Bloomsbury side who had lost to a late goal in the 1st encounter between the sides earlier in the season
Cambridge made a strong start to the game scoring after a couple of minutes and their early domination saw them move into what appeared to be a comfortable 5-1 lead, however the young Bloomsbury team dug in and hit back with 2 goals before the half time interval to bring themselves right back into the match
The second half started with both sides making chances, but neither side managing to convert them, it felt like the next goal would be crucial to the outcome of the match.
It was Cambridge who made the vital breakthrough with 2 goals in quick succession opening what once again looked to be a match winning gap.
But the young Bloomsbury players refused to give up, hitting two goals of their own and then with just seconds remaining getting back to within a goal of the home side with one of the most audacious clipped finishes seen at the University of Cambridge Sports Centre. From the kick off Bloomsbury pressed immediately looking for an equaliser, but paid the price as the home team rapidly broke up the court and sealed victory with their 8th goal.
