A dominate performance from Cambridge saw a goal fest against the newly promoted & bottom club from Hampshire.
There’s no hiding place in futsal because (in football terms) ALL the action is in effect taking place in the penalty area, so any mistakes or inexperience can be punished severely by conceding a goal.
So a bumper Christmas home crowd swarmed to the home of the Bees, the magnificent 400 seater University of Cambridge Sports Centre and enjoyed the warm & dry family facilities whilst outdoor football was all cancelled owing to frozen larger football pitches etc.
Head Coach Luis Mendonca took it as an opportunity to offer extended game time to several of the young players in the squad and they didn’t disappoint with some notable performances, in particular rising 16yr old local star Rafael Martinez.
The 3points won saw the Bees climb to 3rd in the FA National Futsal Series T2 division going into the New Year.
